This first aid course
is suitable for
organisations where
a qualified first
aider is not required,
but where there
must be an “appointed
person” to
satisfy the needs
of the Health &
Safety (First Aid)
Regulations 1981.
It is also appropriate
for people who wish
to gain an understanding
of First Aid emergency
Procedures. There
is no exam and a
certificate is issued
to delegates on
completion. It is
recommended that
this be renewed
every three years.

- Assessment of Incidents / Casualties
- Managing the Unconsciousness Casualty
- Recovery Position (Including Practise)
- Seizures
- Disorders of Respiration (including Choking & Asthma)
- Resuscitation (Including C P R Practise)
- Bleeding and Shock
- Role of the First Aider
- First Aid Boxes and Accident Reporting
- Minor Burns & Scalds
- Minor Injuries
Delegate
Prerequisites
Candidates
must
not
suffer
from
any
condition
that
could
restrict
their
ability
to undertake
practical
work,
which
will
be an
essential
element
of the
course.
Suitable
clothing
should
be worn
- trousers
or jeans
recommended.
