This course aims
to promote awareness
of the full range
of substances hazardous
to health in the
workplace rather
than substances
with particularly
hazardous properties.
The hazardous substances
will include those
covered by the Control
of Substances Hazardous
to Health (COSHH)
Regulations 2002,
which excludes: |

Asbestos
and
lead,
which
are
covered
by separate
legislation |

Substances
which
are
hazardous
only
because
they
are:
radioactive;
asphyxiants;
at high
pressure;
at extreme
temperatures;
or have
explosive
or flammable
properties
(covered
by DSEAR
(Dangerous
Substances
and
Explosive
Atmospheres
Regulations
2002))

exposure
to hazardous
substances
that
can
cause
ill
health
and
injury.
